West Nashville Car Accident Claims One Life

A car accident late Wednesday night in Nashville, Tennessee, claimed the life of one man.

According to a report by wkrn.com, the accident occurred around 11 p.m. on River Road Pike in West Nashville when a car crossed over the center line and collided with another vehicle carrying a 47-year-old man and his 43-year-old sister.

The impact of the accident caused the 47-year-old man to suffer fatal injuries, while his 43-year-old sister was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that crossed the center line suffered minor injuries in the accident and told police that she saw something near the roadway while driving and slammed on her brakes to avoid it—causing her to lose control and slide into the other vehicle.

Nashville Metro Police state that there was no evidence of drug or alcohol use playing a role in the crash, and the investigation is still ongoing to determine its cause.

The Nashville personal injury lawyers at Matt Hardin Law express our condolences to the family of the man who died in this tragic accident, and we hope the other victims experience full recoveries from their injuries.

What Compensation is Available if a Loved One Dies in a Car Accident?

Car accidents can cause injuries that range from minor cuts and bruises to life-threatening injuries that can become fatal even with medical intervention. At Matt Hardin Law, we’ve helped many families who lost loved ones in car accidents, and we know how devastating it can be. But we also know that filing a claim for compensation can help grieving loved ones significantly with the expenses associated with a death.

Some of the expenses that family members can recover after a loved one’s death include:

  • Medical bills

In some cases, victims of car accidents may be transported to the hospital and undergo invasive procedures and surgeries to save their lives. The cost of those procedures can add up significantly, and the families may still have to pay their medical bills even if they pass away. Filing a claim for compensation can help recover money to cover any medical bills incurred by the victims before they pass away.

  • Funeral costs

Funerals are getting more and more expensive every year, and many families aren’t in position to pay for one after a tragic accident—especially if they lost the income they rely on. A claim for compensation can provide families with the money they need to provide a proper funeral for their loved one if they die as a result of a car accident that was caused by someone else’s negligence.

  • Lost wages and spousal support

Many households rely on the income of a single person to support multiple family members, and if anything happens to that person, it can put the rest of the family in a severe financial burden. In addition to receiving money for medical bills and funeral costs, auto accident claims can also recover a percentage of the wages the person who passed away was expected to earn over a specific time period. This compensation can help families during the grieving process and for years to come.

Losing a loved one in a traffic accident is an incredibly difficult experience for families, but as Nashville personal injury lawyers, we believe that the families of innocent victims should have to pay for the expenses caused by careless or negligent drivers. That’s why we do everything in our power to recover full compensation for people who file claims after accidents.
