Truck Driver Crashes into Murfreesboro Home

A man driving a Chevrolet pickup truck drove into a Murfreesboro home on SE Broad Street Monday afternoon, causing significant damage to the home.

The Daily News Journal reports that the accident occurred around 12:45 p.m. when the man, who was driving a white Chevrolet Z71 pickup truck, drove off the roadway and onto the lawn before crashing into the side of the house. The impact of the collision caused his truck to knock down a significant portion of a wall and trees on the property.

As a result of the accident, the man was left trapped inside his truck and had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency crews with the Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department. After he was rescued, the man was transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital by ambulance to receive treatment for his injuries.

The damage to the home resulted in all utilities to the home being shut off and an inspection by the City of Murfreesboro Building and Codes Department to determine if the home’s structure is still strong enough for the home to be considered livable.

Matt Hardin Law’s team of Murfreesboro car accident attorneys hope the man who was injured in this accident recoveries from his injuries and that the homeowners are able to repair the damage and remain in their home.

What Can You Get Compensation for after an Auto Accident?

If you were recently involved in a car accident, your first concern is protecting your health and the health of your family members. But once you’ve made sure your loved ones are okay, you may be facing a financially difficult future. Fortunately, innocent victims who were experienced injuries or other damages due to other people’s negligence are eligible to file claims for compensation for things like:

  • Hospital bills, prescription medications, and doctor visits

One of the biggest costs victims face in the aftermath of their car accidents are medical expenses for themselves and their family members. Even a short ambulance ride to the hospital and a brief examination from a doctor can cost thousands of dollars—and that’s money you may not have right now.

  • Property damage

While most people only need money to repair damage to their vehicles after car accidents, other victims may need compensation for other types of property—including their homes. As the story above shows, car accidents can involve serious damage to all types of personal property that can cost tens of thousands of dollars to repair or replace. And when you’re not responsible for the accident, you shouldn’t be responsible for paying for the damage.

  • Pain and suffering

Auto accident victims are vulnerable to experiencing both physical and psychological pain and suffering. Because of the serious nature of car accident injuries, victims often deal with trauma to their backs, necks, and legs that can lead to chronic pain and even difficultly performing their jobs and enjoying life. In addition, victims also often experience psychological pain in the form of post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, and even a fear of driving or riding in a vehicle after their accident. These are profound conditions that can disrupt victims’ quality of life.

Depending on the type of car accident you were involved in, you may be eligible to receive all three types of compensation. If you’re unsure of the types of compensation you should pursue, contact the Murfreesboro car accident lawyers.
