2 Victims Transported to Hospital after 3-Vehicle Accident in Madison
Two people were seriously injured and transported to a local hospital after an accident that involved three vehicles occurred on Old Hickory Boulevard in Madison early Friday.
Per a report by WKRN.com, the accident occurred at the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and Graycroft Avenue at around 5:30 a.m. Emergency responders transported two of the drivers to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Metro Nashville Police closed Old Hickory Boulevard from Interstate 65 to Gallatin Pike as they worked to treat the victims, clear the scene, and investigate the accident. It was reopened to traffic at around 6:30 a.m.
No additional information has been released, including the cause of the accident or the current conditions of the victims.
Steps to Take after a Multi-Vehicle Accident to Protect Yourself and Others

If you weren’t seriously injured, try to provide aid to victims that doesn’t put them or yourself in further danger. Applying pressure to wounds with a clean cloth or towel can help slow bleeding, while giving victims water or other liquids can help them if they go into shock. However, it’s important to avoid moving victims that are unconscious or that are having difficult moving, as doing so can put them at risk of suffering further injuries to their back or spine. Only move victims if they are in immediate danger.
When vehicles are severely damaged, especially in their front ends near their engines, they are at risk of catching fire. If the drivers of the vehicles involved in the accident are unconscious or severely injured and unable to do so themselves, try to put their vehicles in park and turn off the ignitions. Running engines are more likely to catch fire than engines that have been disabled.
When emergency responders arrive at the scene, make sure you stick around and cooperate with them. That means answering any questions from police officers truthfully and allowing paramedics the opportunity to check you for any injuries. Even if you don’t think you were seriously hurt in the crash, you should go to the hospital or a doctor’s office soon after to get a medical report and to rule out internal injuries.
The most important thing to do after a multi-vehicle accident is to simply assess the scenario. If the accident occurred in the middle of a highway or interstate and other vehicles are still driving near you, stay in your car and wait for help to arrive.
