A 21-year-old woman from Adams, Tennessee, was killed on Tuesday night when her vehicle collided with a semi-truck in the westbound lanes of Interstate 24 in Montgomery County.

Per a report by Clarksville Now, the accident happened near mile marker 16 at around 10:30 p.m. when the victim attempted to pass the truck at a high rate of speed after the truck began to slow down in response to traffic in front of it.

However, an investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol revealed that she failed to brake in time when her vehicle was near the truck, causing it to go underneath the truck.

Five vehicles, including a semi-truck, were involved in an accident in the westbound lanes of Interstate 24 on Friday morning.

Per a report by, the accident happened at around 2:30 a.m. near the bell Road exit. Emergency responders closed three lanes of traffic as they worked to clear the scene.

All lanes were reopened to traffic by around 6 a.m. when crews towed away all the affected vehicles. However, the semi-truck’s trailer remained on the shoulder of the road for several hours after the crash.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 in Cumberland County after multiple semi-trucks were involved in a collision.

Per a report by, at least one semi-truck overturned during the crash, which occurred just after 1 p.m. near Monterey, Tennessee.

Heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Cindy may have contributed to the crash, as the interstate was slick at the time of the accident.

A THP spokesperson told reporters that the crash had caused traffic to back up for several miles. It’s unknown if anyone was injured during the multi-truck accident. The THP also said that drivers can expect the westbound lanes to remain closed for several hours as they work to investigate the crash and clear the scene.

Nashville’s Metro Traffic and Parking Commission voted unanimously to ban semi-trucks that weigh more than four tons from using 51st Avenue in the western part of the city.

Per a report by, the ban is due to major changes occurring on 51st Avenue that will transform it into a road that includes bike lanes, crosswalks, parking spaces, and a turning lane.

A Metro councilwoman told reporters that the goal for the road is to make the area feel more like a neighborhood.

Two people suffered critical injuries after their vehicle collided with a semi-truck in Rutherford County on Monday at around 11 a.m.

Per a report by, the accident occurred at the intersection of South Church Street and Joe B. Jackson Parkway near Walmart.

A spokesperson with the Murfreesboro Police Department told reporters that the victims were in critical condition after the accident. reports that a LifeFlight helicopter was called to the scene to transport the victims to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

A tractor-trailer rolled over onto its side in the westbound lanes of Interstate 840 near Murfreesboro Monday night, causing a 56-year-old woman who was riding in the vehicle to suffer fatal injuries.

Per a report by, the crash occurred just before midnight near the Alamaville Road exit. The Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated the accident and confirmed that the woman died during the accident.

The THP also said that a 55-year-old man who was driving the truck was injured in the crash. An investigation of the accident revealed that the semi-truck left the roadway and drove over an embankment before it ended up inside a ravine near the interstate.

Mechanic Injured after Dump Truck Rolls Over in Springfield

A 65-year-old mechanic was seriously injured when the dump truck he was driving rolled over in Springfield, Tennessee, Tuesday afternoon.

Per a report by Smokey Barn News, the accident occurred just after 1 p.m. when the man was taking the dump truck for a test drive. Police say the dump truck rolled over when he failed to negotiate a turn while traveling from Old 431 to William A. Batson Blvd.

The truck, which was carrying a load of sand, began to tip as the driver completed the turn. The vehicle then rolled and landed on its roof. Despite the vehicle being overturned and on its roof, the driver managed to escape from the vehicle without help from emergency responders.

Injuries Reported after Vehicle Crashes into Back of Semi-Truck

A vehicle crashed into the back of a semi-truck in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 late Thursday night, causing the vehicle’s driver to suffer injuries.

Per a report by, the accident occurred when the man was traveling west on I-40 in Davidson County near the Linwood Road exit and his vehicle crashed into the back of the semi-truck, which had stopped due to traffic.

The 48-year-old driver of the vehicle was injured during the crash and transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center via LifeFlight helicopter to receive treatment for his injuries. His current condition is unknown, as is the cause of the accident. Police briefly closed the interstate to allow the helicopter to land on the roadway.

Rutherford County Residents Ordered to Evacuate after Truck Spills Toxic Chemicals

A semi-truck rolled over in the westbound lanes of Interstate 24 early Wednesday morning at around 3 a.m., causing toxic chemicals to be released onto the roadway and the surrounding area.

Per a report by, the crash occurred when two tractor-trailers collided. Both drivers were injured, with one being transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital and the other being transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to receive treatment for their injuries.

The semi-truck was hauling chlorine-based pool chemicals when it crashed. Officials with the Rutherford County Emergency Management agency asked motorists to avoid the area, and then expanded their response to include a mandatory evacuation of all residents in the Buchanan Estates area near where the crash occurred.
