Tennessee Highways Record Lowest Number of Fatalities in 50 Years

With 533 traffic fatalities so far in 2015, Tennessee’s highways are on pace for their safest year since 1963.

According to a report by, there were 583 traffic fatalities through the same date in 2014. A spokesperson for the Tennessee Highway Patrol said that this year is on a record-setting pace for highway safety in the Volunteer State.

A 30-year-old man from Smyrna, Tennessee, was arrested by police after he caused a car accident in Murfreesboro that seriously injured another person Sunday morning.

Nashville Man Strikes Tow Truck Driver with His Vehicle

A 52-year-old man faces vehicular assault charges after striking a tow truck driver with his vehicle after the operator was attempting to tow it Saturday evening in downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

A report by states that the man got in his vehicle and drove it off the tow truck. The vehicle was originally picked up by the wrecker due to being illegally parked in a lot downtown.

Nashville Man Apprehended after Two Hit-and-Run Accidents

A Putnam County man was arrested after striking a man who was part of a crowd gathered outside a church in Cookeville, Tennessee, early Saturday.

Mt. Juliet Police Officer Stops Wrong-Way Driver Near Interstate 40

A Mt. Juliet police officer was able to stop a 59-year-old man who was driving under the influence and attempting to enter Interstate 40 East using an exit ramp.

According to a report by, the man was stopped around 11:05 p.m. Saturday evening when the police officer noticed a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix turn from Providence Way onto Interstate 40 East using the 226-C exit ramp.
