Construction Begins on Emergency Center off Interstate 24 near Clarksville
Both city officials and hospital officials were on hand to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony for a new emergency treatment center that will be built near Hornbuckle Road and Interstate 24 in Montgomery County.
Per a report by The Leaf-Chronicle, the new Tennova medical facility will be 11,680 square-feet in size and will have eight private patient rooms and radiology and lab testing services on-site. Patients who are transported to the center that need more advanced and critical care can be quickly transported to the main Tennova hospital in St. Bethlehem or another care facility of their choosing.
The facility will be capable of treating patients with illnesses and injuries that other urgent care facilities nearby can’t handle. In addition, the center will be staffed with emergency physicians, registered nurses, and other patient care providers.
A local EMS spokesperson told reporters that having the facility in its location will reduce response times for around 30 percent of their call volumes in Montgomery County. That will allow paramedics to quickly and efficiently transport patients to the care facility so that not only can they be treated faster, but the paramedics will also be able to respond to other calls more quickly as well.
The construction of the new facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
