Investigators with the Metro Nashville Police Department are searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck a bicyclist in the Priest Lake area of Nashville early Monday, and they’re asking the public for tips or information.
Per a report by WKRN.com, the incident occurred at around 2 a.m. on Smith Springs Road near Ned Shelton Road. The driver left the scene without stopping his or her vehicle, and the bicyclist was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to receive treatment for life-threatening injuries.
Investigators with the MNPD closed Smith Springs Road as they investigated the crash. Drivers who passed through the area were rerouted to Nashboro Boulevard to avoid the closure.
The MNPD is asking for information about the accident, and anyone with tips about the driver who struck the bicyclist is urged to contact the CrimeStoppers hotline by dialing (615) 74-CRIME.
