Memphis Police Car Involved in Accident with SUV near Midtown
A Memphis police cruiser was involved in an accident that caused an SUV to flip over onto its side Monday afternoon.
According to a report by wmcactionnews5.com, the accident occurred when the squad car crashed into a red SUV near the intersection of Peabody Avenue and South Rembert Street in the midtown area of Memphis. The impact of the collision caused the SUV to roll onto its side and the two occupants of the vehicle to suffer injuries.
A spokesperson for the Memphis Police Department confirmed that one of its patrol cars was involved in the accident but said that the department is unsure of the cause of the accident at this time.
Residents of the neighborhood said that crashes at the intersection are a common occurrence, with three happening around the same area in recent weeks.
