Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-65 Results in 6 People Suffering Injuries
An accident involving multiple vehicles caused six people to suffer injuries Friday night around 11:30 p.m.
According to a report by WKRN.com, the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 in Nashville near exit 86, just north of the downtown area and near the Cumberland River.
A spokesperson with Nashville Metro Police told reporters that the accident involved a total of four vehicles and that six people were transported to local hospitals to receive treatment for their injuries. However, none of the victims are believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident at this time, and no further information has been released.
Portions of I-65 were closed this weekend in Nashville, including the left lane of the northbound side of the interstate. The closures extended from mile marker 86 to mile marker 91 and began Friday at 9 p.m. and ended around noon on Sunday.
The closures, which were scheduled to allow road crews a chance to hang overhead signs, affected traffic and caused delays throughout the weekend.
