Multiple Injuries Reported after 3-Vehicle Accident in Clarksville

Three vehicles were involved in an accident that injured four people in Montgomery County Friday morning.

Clarksville Now reports that the crash occurred at around 9:15 a.m. near the intersection of Sevenmile Ferry Rd when two vehicles initially collided head-on. Another vehicle was also involved in the accident shortly after the first crash.

Emergency responders said in a news release that of the four victims, two were seriously injured in the accident. One of the victims was transported to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville to receive treatment, while the other victims were transported to Tennova Healthcare.

Clarksville police officers closed the roadway to clear the scene and investigate the accident. Traffic was rerouted through the area via Vista Ln and Edmondson Ferry Rd.

Anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact the Clarksville Police Department’s Traffic Unit by dialing (931) 648-0656 or by calling its TIPS Hotline at (931) 645-8477.

How Are Victims Affected after Serious Auto Accidents?

Car accidents are always traumatic, stressful, and frightening. Some victims can walk away without a scratch, while others may suffer painful injuries that require a few days or weeks to heal before they’re able to resume their normal lives. Unfortunately, there are many victims who suffer profound injuries that can dramatically reduce their quality of life.

Some of the most dramatic changes that can occur in victims’ lives after car accidents include:

  • Chronic pain

While some victims may seem healthy after their injuries initially heal, they may be left with chronic pain in their bones and joints that can last for years or even a lifetime. This type of pain can be difficult to manage and can cause a victim’s quality of life to drop significantly.

  • Disability

When a victim’s pain becomes severe enough—or if the accident left him or her with limited mobility, loss of a limb, or paralysis—he or she may become completely or partially disabled. People with disabilities can lose their independence and their ability to work. Some may have to change jobs or careers, while others may need to drop out of the workforce entirely. That can put a big strain on their finances and their ability to take care of their families.

  • Anxiety

Being involved in an auto accident is one of the most traumatic things that people can experience. When victims are seriously injured—or fear that they may become seriously injured during the crash—they can be left with severe emotional and psychological trauma that can result in anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Some victims may even develop a fear of driving or riding in vehicles, which can interfere with their ability to live normal lives.

  • Depleted finances

In addition to being unable to work, many car accident victims also find themselves having to pay for expensive vehicle repairs, expensive medical bills, and expensive physical rehabilitation. These auto-accident related expenses can quickly deplete a person’s or family’s savings and put them at risk of financial ruin.

Some victims also suffer injuries that are life-threatening. The National Safety Council says that 38,300 people were killed in car accidents in the U.S. in 2015, and 4.4 million others were seriously injured.
