Multiple Injuries Reported after Truck Carrying Milk Collides with Vehicle
An industrial truck carrying milk was involved in an accident with a passenger vehicle on Interstate 40 East in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Thursday morning, causing an adult and two children to suffer injuries.
A wkrn.com staff report says the accident occurred around 9 a.m. near mile marker 226 when the truck collided with the vehicle, causing milk and fuel to begin leaking onto the roadway from the truck’s trailer.
Due to the accident and the leak, Mt. Juliet police closed lanes of I-40 East for several hours to clean up the mess. Two lanes were reopened by 11 a.m., but the accident scene isn’t expected to be completely cleared until 1 p.m.
Police also stated that the victims of the accident were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to receive treatment for their injuries, which aren’t considered life-threatening at this time.
