Police Reconstructing Fatal Accident Scene in Clarksville on Friday
Drivers may experience traffic delays at the intersection of Trenton Road and 101st Airborne Division Parkway in Clarksville on Friday afternoon as police work to reconstruct the scene of a fatal accident that occurred in November 2015.
According to a report by Clarksville Now, the reconstruction began at 10 a.m. and is a joint effort by the Clarksville Police Department and the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The accident they are reconstructing occurred on Nov. 14 of last year and killed one person and injured another. A soldier from Fort Campbell was indicted for his role in the crash.
Police say that the reconstruction will take several hours to complete, and that drivers should expect minor to major delays as workers complete the process. Because of the expected delays, commuters are advised to avoid the area if possible and to find alternate routes to their destinations.
In addition to being aware of delays, police are also urging drivers to be aware of the presence of police officers and TDOT employees in the area who may be in the roadway directing traffic. All drivers should reduce their speed and proceed through the accident reconstruction area with caution.
