Slick Roads Cause Multiple Robertson County Truck Accidents in Recent Days
An accident involving a tractor-trailer blocked traffic on Interstate 65 South in Robertson County on Monday.
According to a report by the Tennessean and information provided by the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the accident occurred just before 11 a.m. near mile marker 116 and blocked at least one lane of traffic in the southbound lanes of the interstate. Northbound traffic was also delayed due to the accident.
It’s unclear as this time if anyone was hurt in the accident, and it is still under investigation. The crash scene is expected to be cleared by 1 p.m.
Roads throughout Robertson County were slick and icy over the weekend, and multiple accidents were reported on Saturday and Sunday. Three separate accidents involving a horse trailer and two semi-trucks occurred Sunday evening around 6:30 p.m. on I-65 South, and more minor accidents were reported Monday morning.
The weekend accidents were due to a mixture of snow and ice that had accumulated on roadways throughout the county, but most of it had melted or washed away by Monday morning. No serious injuries were reported in the weather-related accidents that were reported over the weekend.
