Earlier last week, a Tennessee couple was killed in a car accident in a National Park in Utah when a pick-up truck traveling in the opposite direction crossed into their lane. According to a report by the Salt Lake Tribune, the couple was driving east on Highway 24 in Capitol Reef National Park in southern Utah when the pick-up truck began to veer off the road. As the driver of the truck overcorrected, his truck was sent into the lane that the Tennesseans were traveling in. The truck collided head on with the passenger car.
Neither of the Tennesseans were wearing a seat belt, and both of them were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pick-up truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police have not yet issued a citation in relation to the accident, and they are still conducting an investigation into how the accident may have been caused.

Of all the accidents we see, head-on collisions tend to be the most likely to result in fatalities. Often, head-on collisions involve two vehicles traveling at high speeds in opposite directions.
