Two Semi-Trucks Collide On I-40 Westbound
Two semi-trucks were involved in an accident on Interstate 40 westbound near downtown Nashville on Tuesday.
According to a report by jrn.com, the accident occurred just before 11 a.m. at mile marker 208. Reports from the scene of the accident indicate that one of the trucks struck another from behind, causing both to incur serious damage and block traffic.
Police stated that one of the trucks was carrying large appliances, and several of those appliances fell out of the back as a result of the accident. The appliances left debris on the roadway near the Interstate 40 and Interstate 65 junction.
It’s currently unclear if either of the truck drivers suffered injuries in the accident. Police closed all but one lane of Interstate 40 Westbound while cleaning up the accident scene, but the roadway was fully reopened by 2:30 p.m. today.
