One person had to be extricated from a vehicle after seven cars were involved in a crash in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 in Montgomery County on Saturday morning.

Per a report by, the accident occurred at around 9:15 a.m. near mile marker 8 in Clarksville. Troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and officers with the Clarksville Police Department were dispatched to the scene.

Emergency responders closed all eastbound lanes as they worked to investigate the crash and remove the seven damaged vehicles from the scene. It’s unknown what caused the accident.

Five vehicles were involved in a serious collision in Montgomery County on Saturday, and multiple people were transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.

Clarksville Now reports that first responders with multiple Montgomery County agencies were called to the scene of the five-vehicle crash, which happened on Dover Rd. near Oakwood Rd. between noon and 1 p.m.

Police closed several lanes as they worked to clear the scene and allow emergency responders access to the victims.

A man was killed and a woman was seriously injured after an accident involving an SUV and a sedan in Montgomery County early Sunday.

Per a report by Clarksville Now, the accident happened on Franklin Street near University Avenue. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found the male victim dead inside a Suzuki SUV and the female victim critically injured inside a Ford Fusion. The woman was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to receive treatment via LifeFlight helicopter.

Multiple other vehicles were also involved in the crash, and a nearby building sustained damage during the accident.

Three people were seriously injured and one person was killed during a four-vehicle accident on Montgomery County on Monday.

Per a report by Clarksville Now, the crash happened on Highway 149 at around noon. The Tennessee Highway Patrol’s investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by a 74-year-old woman from Tennessee Ridge was traveling westbound when it crossed the center line and rear-ended a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old woman.

The impact of that collision caused the 74-year-old woman’s vehicle to sideswipe a vehicle in the eastbound lanes. Another vehicle that was also traveling eastbound swerved to avoid the crash and was struck head-on by the 74-year-old woman’s car.

Construction Begins on Emergency Center off Interstate 24 near Clarksville

Both city officials and hospital officials were on hand to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony for a new emergency treatment center that will be built near Hornbuckle Road and Interstate 24 in Montgomery County.

Per a report by The Leaf-Chronicle, the new Tennova medical facility will be 11,680 square-feet in size and will have eight private patient rooms and radiology and lab testing services on-site. Patients who are transported to the center that need more advanced and critical care can be quickly transported to the main Tennova hospital in St. Bethlehem or another care facility of their choosing.

The facility will be capable of treating patients with illnesses and injuries that other urgent care facilities nearby can’t handle. In addition, the center will be staffed with emergency physicians, registered nurses, and other patient care providers.

Injuries Reported after Two Vehicles Damaged during Rollover Accident

Two vehicles were involved in a rollover crash in Clarksville on Wednesday evening, causing two people to suffer injuries.

Per a report by, the accident happened at around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Fort Campbell Boulevard and Cunningham Lane in Montgomery County. The vehicles involved in the accident included a white GMC Envoy SUV and a gray Pontiac Grand Am. The Envoy rolled over and came to rest on its roof.

Both drivers were injured during the accident. One of the drivers suffered only minor injuries, but the other driver was more seriously injured and was transported to Tennova Healthcare to receive treatment for his or her injuries. Clarksville Police say that he or she is currently in stable condition.

Clarksville Now reports that the crash occurred at around 9:15 a.m. near the intersection of Sevenmile Ferry Rd when two vehicles initially collided head-on. Another vehicle was also involved in the accident shortly after the first crash.

Emergency responders said in a news release that of the four victims, two were seriously injured in the accident. One of the victims was transported to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville to receive treatment, while the other victims were transported to Tennova Healthcare.

THP Reports That Traffic Fatalities in TN at Lowest Number Since 1963

The Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security had good news to share, as 2015 had the lowest number of recorded traffic fatalities in the state since 1963.

Clarksville Now reports that all Tennessee law enforcement agencies reported the total number of traffic fatalities in their areas to the THP. There were 965 deaths related to vehicle accidents in the state in 2015 compared to 941 deaths in 1963.

Clarksville Car Accident Kills 1, Injures 2 on Christmas Day

A serious accident involving two vehicles led to one fatality and two other victims suffering injuries in Clarksville on Christmas morning.

According to a report by, the accident occurred at the intersection of Ashland City Road and Branch Road just before 8:30 a.m.

Emergency responders told reporters that the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by a 64-year-old man from Woodlawn, Tennessee, struck another vehicle head-on that was carrying two people from Clarksville.

The impact of the collision caused the 64-year-old man to die at the scene of the accident. The 69-year-old driver of the second vehicle was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to receive treatment for serious injuries, and a 75-year-old passenger in the vehicle was transported to Gateway Medical Center. Both are still listed in serious condition.
